Highlands squeaks past Bishop Brossart

The Highlands Ladybirds softball team (8-6 overall) struggled against Bishop Brossart senior Kaitlyn Seiter.

But despite not having starters Brennah Dutcher, Chloe Jansen, Taylor Baioni and Morgan Coffey in the line-up, Highlands pulled out a 2-1 victory. Sophomore Maleah Abner had a two-run hit in the sixth inning to lift the Ladybirds to the win.

Senior pitcher Bailey Spencer had another big game for Highlands. She struck out seven and walked just one.

Highlands does not play again until Monday. The Ladybirds open 36th District action against Bellevue at 5:30 p.m.

Baseball:
Highlands-Covington Catholic postponed:

Highlands (7-4 overall) was to play Covington Catholic in 9th Region action at Highland Park on Tuesday. The game was moved to Wednesday at 5 p.m.
