Monday Highlands Results

Bluebirds Win 36th District Opener

The Highlands Bluebirds boys basketball team (6-0 overall) knew this game mattered more than the first five because of 36th District seeding implications.

But the Bluebirds continued to play as well as they have all season recording a 92-49 victory over the Dayton Greendevils (1-6) on Monday at Russell Bridges Gym. This marked the fifth time in six games that Highlands has scored 85 or more points.

Highlands Cruises to Win in 36th District Opener

The Highlands Bluebirds boys basketball team (5-1 overall) started off the stretch of three straight games against in-county opponents strong with a 75-38 win over the host Dayton Greendevils (1-6) on Tuesday.

Highlands led 27-9 after the first quarter and 46-11 at halftime. The Bluebirds played 14 players. Senior forward Ryan Leigh led the way with 12 points with junior Hunter Ahlfeld and sophomore Luke Muller scoring nine each.

Another Perfect District Run for Bluebirds

The Highlands Bluebirds baseball team wanted to again solidify the top seed in the 36th District Tournament with another perfect run in seed play.

The Bluebirds (17-10 overall) needed to beat the Dayton Greendevils (3-14) to do just that. Highlands took care of the visitors, 24-1 in five innings to do that Tuesday.

The Highlands Bluebirds basketball team (9-8 overall) dressed 18 players for the 36th District contest against the Dayton Greendevils (3-14).

Gratifying District Wins

Highlands hoops squads handle 36th Opponents

The Highlands Ladybirds basketball team has not lost a 36th District seed game since the district switched to that process before the 2013-14 season and the team made sure it stayed that way Saturday.

Bluebirds beat Green Devils to advance in district tournament

The Highlands Bluebirds basketball team (7-16 overall) beat the Dayton Greendevils, 74-53 in the four-five game for the third time this season to keep its season alive Monday at Bellevue.

Bluebirds finish 2-1 in Swauger Tournament

Highlands quickly evened its record at 2-2 with a 62-52 win over Dayton on Wednesday in the Swauger Holiday Classic at Bellevue. Highlands finished fifth in the tournament.
