Highlands (6-16 overall) has lost seven of its last eight games. On the other side, CovCath (23-6) has won 13 in a row and earned the top ranking in Kentucky. The Colonels have won the last two 9th Region Tournaments and won the state championship two years before falling in the state semifinals last year.
The Bluebirds take on Dayton (13-14) in the first round of the 36th District Tournament on Monday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
