The Highlands Bluebirds baseball team (16-5 overall) saw its seven-game winning streak come to an end in a 2-0 loss to the Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller Crusaders at UC Medical Center Stadium in Florence on Thursday.
Highlands senior pitcher Grady Cramer (4-2) threw a complete game in the loss. Cramer struck out six and walked three. Moeller strung together five hits and two earned runs.
The Bluebirds batted .125 (3-for-24) in the game. Seniors Trey Gabbard, Trent Johnson and junior Ethan Kavanagh had singles for Highlands.
Highlands plays Beechwood (20-0) in the Reds Futures Showcase at Great American Ballpark on Friday. Game time is 8 p.m.
