The Highlands Ladybirds (2-1 overall) lost for the first time this year by a 1-0 score to the Cincinnati Ursuline Lions of the Greater Catholic League.

Ursuline out-shot Highlands, 9-7 scoring the game's lone goal in the 65th minute. Sophomore Maggie Hinegardner stopped nine shots at goalkeeper for the Ladybirds.

"We had opportunities and the game could have gone either way, but I feel our girls were being very reactive on offense," said Brian Wiefering, Highlands Head Coach. "In the past, they have done a very good job of moving off the ball with many of their runs dictating the pass. (On Saturday), we were very late providing options to the player with the ball. We also were not as physical as I've seen in the past. The atmosphere felt like a club soccer game with little fan base on both sides, and I think they have enjoyed the awesome turnouts they get at home games and had at soccerama. They need to learn to give 110 percent at opponents' fields when their fan base isn't as large."

Highlands plays host to Newport on Monday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
