The Highlands Bluebirds Golf Team won its first dual match of the year beating Covington Catholic's "B" Team, 170-157 on Wednesday at A.J. Jolly Course.
J.D. Gabbard took medalist honors shooting a 36 and senior Jackson Recht followed with a 39. Freshman Luke Muller shot a 40 and senior Aaron Verst shot a 42 to round out the Highlands scoring. Junior Ryan Leigh shot a 42 and Steven Grimme fired a 45 for the Bluebirds.
Highlands takes on Bishop Brossart at Highland Country Club on Monday. The match starts at 3:30 p.m.
