The Highlands Bluebirds boys golf team knocked off Newport Central Catholic, 176-198 at Highland Country Club.

Junior Justin Gabbard won medalist honors shooting a 33 on the nine-hole course to lead the Bluebirds. Several middle school golfers made up the rest of the score.

"We're still working," said Bert Richey, Highlands Head Coach. "We played a lot of different kids to get some experience and gave some kids some time off to rest so some younger kids got a chance to play in a match. It was a good night."
