Bluebirds Win in Extra Frames

Gosney Holds Eagles Scoreless in Two Extra Innings

The Highlands Bluebirds baseball team (19-12 overall) pulled off an extra-inning win Thursday.

The Bluebirds ventured to Taylor Mill and beat the Scott Eagles, 6-4 in nine innings. Highlands scored twice in the top of the ninth.

Trey Bowden, Ethan Kavanagh and Ethan Doty all went 3-for-5 for nine of the 16 Highlands hits. Kavanagh hit in two and stole two bases with Doty and Bowden scoring once and Bowden driving in one. Bradley Greene and Bryce Ziegler added doubles.

Brady Gosney pitched the two extra innings for Highlands to take the win. He struck out one. Hunter Dreves struck out five pitching into the fifth inning.

The Bluebirds take on Conner at Highland Park on Friday. Game time is 5 p.m.
