Highlands routes Grant County, 64-26

The streak hit three in a row following another route Friday.

The Highlands Ladybirds basketball team (3-1) handled another visiting opponent in the Grant County Lady Braves, 64-26 at Highlands Middle School. Grant County continued to struggle at 1-5 on the season.

Highlands saw 14 different players score in the win. Guards Haley Coffey and Zoie Barth led the way with 11 points each. Lauren Epperson followed with nine and MhcKenzie Leigh had eight points and six rebounds.

The Ladybirds made 24-of-48 shots for 50 percent including 5-of-14 from three-point range for 36 percent. They also hit 11-of-18 free throws for 61 percent.

Abby West led Grant County with six points. The Lady Braves made 9-of-36 shots for 25 percent including 4-of-16 from three-point range for 25 percent. They also made 4-of-7 free-throw tries for 57 percent.

Highlands dominated the rebounding 29-18. That includes 10-4 on the offensive glass.

The Ladybirds hit the road Saturday at South Oldham. Game time is 2:30 p.m.
