Rebels Pull Away From Bluebirds in Third

Boone County pulled away from the Highlands Bluebird boys basketball team (0-2 overall) to win 67-50 in Fort Thomas on Friday.

Highlands trailed just 25-24 at halftime. But the Rebels used a big third quarter to build a 51-36 lead.

Senior Tyler Gulley led Highlands with 14 points. Highlands hit just 8-of-19 from the free-throw line for 42 percent and Boone County hit 5-of-14 for nearly 36 percent.

Highlands travels to Simon Kenton (1-0) on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
