Things worked out to where there will be no co-champions in the annual Lexington Catholic Cup Tournament on Saturday.
It started in the first game Thursday when Louisville Sacred Heart beat Notre Dame on a shoot-out, 1-0 putting the Highlands Ladybirds (10-0-1) in the championship game at 7 p.m. Highlands will face Simon Kenton (9-2-1) in the title game.
Simon Kenton defeated Lexington Tates Creek, 2-1 in a shoot-out. Abigail Zoeller scored in the last minute of regulation for the Lady Pioneers to force the game into overtime.
Highlands is seeking its first championship in this tournament in 10 years when the 2006 eventual state champion Ladybirds captured the crown.
