Whitney Creech helped the Jenkins Lady Cavaliers to their first region win since 2004 Tuesday.
Creech scored 59 points to help Jenkins (17-14) to a 75-65 win over Perry County Central in the 14th Region quarterfinals at Powell County. The teams split during the regular season.
Creech extended her record for the most career points in Kentucky history for boys and girls to 5,428 points and increased her season total to 1,561. Creech averages just more than 50 points per game. She has bested Highlands Head Coach Jaime Walz-Richey's old mark of 4,948 by 480 points.
Jenkins takes on host Powell County on Friday. Game time is 8 p.m. in Stanton.
