Weekend Round-up: Ladybirds down Bishop Brossart, 2-1

The Highlands Ladybirds soccer team (11-7 overall) took out Bishop Brossart, 2-1 on Sunday.

Neither team scored in the first half. Ellie Farley and Lindsey Meyer scored the Highlands goals. Meyer and Sydney Ossege had the assists.

Highlands takes on Simon Kenton on Monday. Game time is 8 p.m.

Soccer, Boys:
Highlands 1, Bishop Brossart 1:

The Bluebirds and Mustangs tied for the second straight year Saturday. Colton Wagoner scored the lone goal for Highlands (8-8-3).

The Bluebirds do not play again until Thursday. They travel to Union to face the Ryle Raiders at 8 p.m.

Volleyball:
Highlands goes 1-4 in JCIVT:

The Ladybirds are 13-17 following a 1-4 finish in the Jefferson County Invitational Volleyball Tournament.

Highlands took down Pleasure Ridge Park, 2-0 (29-27, 25-11) but lost to Owensboro Apollo, 2-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-23) on Friday.

The Ladybirds then lost all three matches on Saturday. The lost to Central Hardin, 2-1 (14-25, 25-20, 25-21), Collins 2-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-17), and McCracken County, 2-0 (25-14, 25-8).

Highlands takes on Bellevue on Thursday. Game time is 7 p.m. in Bellevue.
