The host St. Henry Lady Crusaders scored two breakaway goals in the first half and won 3-2. Highlands tied the game with goals from Lindsey Meyer and Megan Reynolds before St. Henry scored the game-winner on a penalty kick.
Highlands outshot St. Henry, 14-7. The Ladybirds could not finish including a penalty kick in the second half. Shannon Eaton and Olivia McQueary had two saves each for the Ladybirds.
The Ladybirds travel to Bishop Brossart on Sunday. Game time is 6 p.m.
Soccer, Boys:
Cincinnati LaSalle 3, Highlands 1:
Highlands dropped the road game to fall to 8-8-2 on the season. Drew Rom scored the lone goal for the Bluebirds and Ethan Mills had the assist.
The Bluebirds travel to Bishop Brossart on Saturday. Game time is 8 p.m.
Football, Freshmen:
Covington Catholic 39, Highlands 21:
The Bluebirds (4-2) came out strong but could not defeat the Colonels. This snapped a four-game winning streak.
Highlands plays again Oct. 7 at Conner at 6 p.m.
