The winning streak is near double-digits following another domination Friday.

The Highlands Ladybirds softball team downed the visiting Lloyd Memorial Lady Juggernauts, 14-0 in five innings at Winkler Park. Highlands (17-11) has won nine in a row and is one win away from equaling last year’s total.

Highlands outhit Lloyd Memorial, 15-2 and committed just one error to four for the visitors. Sophomore Shelby Graybill put together an outstanding day to lead Highlands going 3-for-4 with three home runs for a total of six runs batted in and three runs scored.

The Ladybirds also saw Haley Coffey, Ashley Grosser, Brennah Dutcher and Rachel Gabbard bang out two hits each. Gabbard and Coffey doubled with Dutcher tripling. Dutcher, Gabbard and Peyton Leighty had two runs batted in each. Whitney Quillen, Coffey, Kendall Turner and Dutcher scored two runs each.

Bailey Spencer recorded another pitching win for Highlands. She struck out seven and walked just one.

Highlands plays again Monday against Bishop Brossart. Game time is 5 p.m. at Winkler Park.
