The host Highlands
Bluebirds boys basketball team ended its four-game losing streak with a 56-52
win over the Campbell County Camels on Thursday.
Highlands (7-10)
improved to 3-1 at home with the win. Luke Turner made three three-pointers on
his way to 22 points to lead the Bluebirds and Drew Houliston hit two triples
on his way to 14 points. Center Nick True followed with 13 points.
Campbell
County (7-11) played just the third game this season with Corey Holbrook and
Nate McGovney in the starting lineup. McGovney returned on Jan. 5 after being
out for part of the season with a torn Anterior Cruciated Ligament and Holbrook
received two technical fouls in the loss to Bishop Brossart and had to sit out
two games per Kentucky High School Athletic Association rules.
The duo led
the Camels in scoring. Holbrook made three three-pointers on his way to 21
points and McGovney made two more on his way to 18.
Campbell
County led 21-20 at halftime.
The
Bluebirds play host to defending 9th Region champion Boone County (10-9) on Saturday.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
