The Highlands Bluebirds boys golf team finished fourth in the Mason County/St. Patrick Invitational at the Maysville Country Club on Saturday in its second tournament of the season.
Senior Luke Muller shot a 74 to finish third to lead Highlands. Senior Justin Gabbard shot a 75 to finish fifth. Sophomore Joel Craft shot an 81 and junior Jack Schneider shot an 87 to round out the scoring. Junior Charlie Gorman shot a 98.
St. Henry won the tournament shooting a 308, edging Mason County by a stroke. Grant County took third with a 313 score.
Highlands took two teams to the tournament. Seniors Isaiah Lampkin, Mac Valentine, freshman Ryan Toole and eighth graders Hank Shick and Nate Surrey composed the second team that shot a 365. Surrey led the way with an 89 score with Shick shooting 90 and Lampkin 91. Toole shot a 95 and Valentine 110.
Highlands plays in the Model Invitational on Monday. It takes place at the University Club at Arlington in Richmond.

Highlands finished ninth out of 14 teams with a 413 score in the first tournament of the season at the Courses of Kenton County.
Highlands saw senior Ellie Rowland lead the way shooting a 79 and junior KJ Toole shoot an 84. Eighth Graders Bailey Markus and Jenna Richey followed with scores of 120 and 130.
Highlands plays in another tournament at the Courses of Kenton County on Monday at 7:30 a.m. Cooper and Ryle are playing host to it.
