Highlands Boys Golf Plays in Scott County Invitational

Bluebirds Earn Experience

Highlands senior Isaiah Lampkin follows through on a shot in a recent tournament.

Head Coach Bert Richey made sure certain players received some experience Saturday when the Highlands Bluebirds boys golf team ventured to the Scott County Invitational.

Highlands finished 14th out of 22 teams shooting a 375 in the tournament played at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown. Louisville Trinity won the tournament shooting 314. The Bluebirds finished one stroke behind Greenup County's 374.

Freshman Ryan Toole led Highlands shooting 88. Eighth Grader Nate Surrey shot 93 with senior Isaiah Lampkin and junior Charlie Gorman shooting 96 and 98 respectively to round out the Bluebird scoring. Senior Mac Valentine also participated shooting 107.

The Bluebirds do not play again until the Mason County Invitational on Aug. 22. The tournament takes place at Laurel Oaks Golf Course in Maysville.
