The Newport
Central Catholic Thoroughbreds volleyball team saw its season end Wednesday in
the 9th Region quarterfinals to the Cooper Lady Jaguars, 3-1 (25-17, 25-13,
16-25, 25-15).
NewCath (16-13) hoped to make it back to the semifinals this year. But it was not meant to happen. Setter Mikah Freppon had 28 assists and cousin Rachel McDonald had 14 kills. Senior Keyaira Lankheit had nine kills and junior Amanda Ruwe had 16 digs.

graduates four seniors. They are Lankheit, Laura Brannon, Olivia Owens and
Jamie Lohr.
