The
Highlands Bluebirds baseball team led 6-4 going into the top of the seventh.
But the
visiting Cooper Jaguars scored six in the top of the inning to leave Fort
Thomas with a 10-6 victory Thursday. Highlands fell to 8-5 with the 9th Region
loss.
Both teams
garnered 10 hits. Todd Ramey led Highlands going 3-for-4 and Alex Venemen
finished 2-for-4 with a run batted in and run scored. Brady Murray had the lone
extra-base hit for Highlands with a double.
Alex
Holland led Cooper going 3-for-5 with a double and four runs batted in. Hunter
Dunn and Colin Hathorn had two hits each. Dunn had a double and scored twice
and Hathorn scored once and batted in two.
Highlands
takes on Cincinnati Elder on Friday in Fort Thomas. Game time is 5 p.m.
Baseball:
Campbell County 10, Newport Central Catholic 3:
The
Thoroughbreds (5-7) opened the Doc Morris Invitational at Covington Holy Cross
with a loss.
Campbell
County outhit NewCath, 9-7 and took advantage of four Thoroughbred errors while
committing two. Grant Moeves led NewCath going 2-for-3 at the plate.
NewCath
continues the Invitational on Friday against Johnson Central. Game time is 6
p.m.
