The
Highlands Ladybirds softball team (9-11) snapped a seven-game losing streak
with a dominating performance Wednesday.
Highlands
downed the Scott Lady Eagles, 12-1 in five innings. The Ladybirds outhit the
Lady Eagles, 13-6 and took advantage of six errors. Highlands made just one
error.
Highlands
led 5-1 after three innings in the second game at Winkler Park. The Ladybirds
pulled away with five runs in the fourth and ended it with two in the fifth.
Whitney
Quillen, Haley Coffey and Ashley Grosser led Highlands with three hits each and
Shelby Graybill added two. Coffey, Graybill and Brennah Dutcher had doubles for
Highlands. Quillen and Grosser scored three runs each with Kendall Turner and
Payton Leighty scoring two each. Coffey had four runs batted in and Dutcher had
two.
Miranda
Mason picked up the pitching win for Highlands. She walked two and struck out
one.
Highlands
travels to Simon Kenton on Monday. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
