Creech scores 38 in Jenkins loss

Whitney Creech scored 38 points in Monday's game to move to 4,778 career points.

But the Jenkins Lady Cavaliers (9-9 overall, 2-3 district) dropped a 70-59 game against Knott County Central. Jenkins lost both 53rd District games to the Lady Patriots this season.

Creech has 911 points on the season. The 5-9 senior point guard is averaging 50.6 points per game. Creech just needs to score 171 more points to surpass the state record for both boys and girls of 4,948 career points by Highlands Head Coach Jaime Walz-Richey.

Jenkins plays another district game Friday at Cordia. Game time is 6 p.m.
