The home field of the Highlands Bluebirds baseball team has not been kind to 32nd District opponents this week.

For the second time in three days, the Bluebirds (19-4) hung double-figure scoring on one. Highlands run-ruled the Walton-Verona Bearcats, 10-0 in five innings after beating the Simon Kenton Pioneers, 11-5 Tuesday.

Highlands continued its hot hitting going .450 (9-for-20) as a team compared to .118 (2-for-17) for the visitors. Brady Murray and Todd Ramey led the Bluebirds going 2-for-2 each. Ramey doubled and hit his team-high sixth home run of the season and Murray tripled on their way to three runs batted in and two runs scored each. Jake Whitford stole a base and Conner Kreeger added a double.

Joseph Martin (3-0) pitched the first three innings for Highlands striking out three. Alex Veneman pitched the last two innings and struck out five.

Highlands takes on Cincinnati St. Xavier (6-11) at 5:30 p.m. The Senior Day/Fan Appreciation Day activities start at 4:30 p.m.
