The
Highlands Bluebirds baseball team edged the Beechwood Tigers, 4-3 in the Conner
Classic on Saturday before losing to Dixie Heights, 1-0.
The
Bluebirds (16-15) had not played a game in a week. Jake Liggett improved to 2-1
with the pitching victory and Jake Lester finished 2-for-3 at the plate against Beechwood.
Highlands
plays host to Louisville Trinity on Monday. Game time is 6 p.m.
NCC games cancelled:
Newport
Central Catholic’s baseball team (17-11) had games scheduled against Harrison
County and Cooper in the Judy Construction Classic on Saturday. Both were
cancelled because of excessive rain.
The
Thoroughbreds travel to Ryle on Monday. Game time is 5 p.m.
