The
Highlands Bluebirds moved to 7-5 with two more victories in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
on Tuesday.
Highlands
opened the day with a 10-8 win over Liverpool (N.Y.). Hector Molina once again
led the Bluebirds going 2-for-4 with a triple, three runs batted in and three
runs scored. Evan Allen and Jac Collinsworth followed with two hits each and
Quentin Murray doubled.
Jake
Liggett picked up the win throwing five relief innings for Highlands. He struck
out three.
Highlands
then defeated Lake Catholic, 7-5. The Bluebirds fell behind 5-0 after the first
inning before rallying for the win. Joey Cochran threw a complete game to pick
up the win for the Bluebirds.
Highlands
returns to action today. The Bluebirds take on Victor (N.Y.) at 3 p.m.
NewCath baseball splits:
The Newport
Central Catholic Thoroughbreds split their games Tuesday.
They run-ruled
Dayton, 16-3 in five innings before falling 7-6 to Cincinnati McNicholas.
NewCath is 2-4 on the season.
The
Thoroughbreds face in-town rival Newport at 5 p.m. today.
Bracken County softball 7, NCC 4:
The
Thoroughbreds fell to 2-2 with the loss Tuesday.
NewCath
plays host to Scott at 5:30 p.m. today.
