Three area
spring games were cancelled because of rain Thursday.
The
Highlands softball team played 1.5 innings and led Newport, 2-0. Highlands
plays at Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Newport
Central Catholic’s softball team was to face Dayton. The Thoroughbreds play host to Covington Holy
Cross at 5 p.m. Friday.
On the
baseball side, Newport Central Catholic was to play Bellevue. The Thoroughbreds
now turn their attention to the All “A” 9th Region Tournament.
