Bluebirds Go for 21st Win of Season Friday |

Highlands fell to 10-4 in region play. The Bluebirds dropped both region games this week.
Highlands had one ace, 34 kills, two assisted blocks, 34 assists and 52 digs in the win. Senior Casey Dunn led the Bluebirds with eight kills and 12 digs. Senior Ava Hockney combined with sophomore Lauren Buemi for a block and recorded eight kills. Senior Audrey Graves had 34 assists, 10 digs, two kills and an ace.
Junior Laura Winkler and sophomore CC Shick also had their moments with seven kills each. Senior defensive specialist Brooke Biltz had 11 digs with sophomore Madison Clore recording seven. Senior Rylee Kirschenbaum added five digs for the Bluebirds.
Highlands plays host to its own Cake Classic starting Friday. The Bluebirds take on Scott at 5:30 p.m. and Bishop Brossart at 7:30 p.m. Conner and George Rogers Clark are in the same bracket with Highlands. GRC's head coach is a former Highlands player in 2012 alum Jesse Bryson.

The Bluebirds moved to 7-0 on the season with their second shutout of the season.
Wide receiver Brennan Kelsay and running back Sam Robinson had two touchdowns each with wide receiver Jack Hendrix and running back Dawson Hosea adding one each. Kicker Davis Burleigh made all six extra-point attempts. Defensively, linebacker Noah Hodge and Robinson had one interception each.
Highlands plays host to Boone County on Thursday. Game time is 6 p.m.
