The only baseball or softball games played since Wednesday involving Highlands or Newport Central Catholic came Friday.
The Highlands Ladybirds (2-1 overall) played the Bishop Brossart Lady Mustangs in the Uncle Pete Noll Classic at River City Park and won 11-1. Their other two scheduled games were rained out.
They pounded out nine hits in the win. Brennah Dutcher led the way going 3-for-3 with two doubles and four runs batted in with Shelby Graybill going 2-for-3 with a double and triple.
Bailey Spencer picked up the win on the mound. She struck out four and walked two for Highlands.
The Ladybirds travel to Bourbon County on Monday. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
The Highlands baseball team tried to play Conner twice, but steady rains prevented that. The NewCath baseball teams were not able to play their games at Harrison County and the NewCath softball games had games called off as well.
