The first
half of the annual girl-boy doubleheader started off well for the visitors.
The
Highlands Ladybirds (25-3) won their eighth in a row dominating the Lloyd
Memorial Lady Juggernauts, 83-39 on Friday. Highlands is one win shy of
matching the win total of the 9th Region runner-up squad two years ago.
Ladybird
junior Brianna Adler continued her hot shooting with a career-high 27 points.
She made a career-high nine three-pointers on 13 shots.
Highlands
saw 13 players score overall. Zoie Barth followed with 10 points and Emma
Little came in and scored nine making three triples.
Highlands
made 30-of-61 shots for 49 percent, including 17-of-34 from three-point range
for 50 percent. The Ladybirds also made 6-of-8 free throws for 75 percent.
Lloyd
Memorial saw just one player score in double figures. That was Devin Cheatum
with 17 points.
The Lady
Juggernauts made 15-of-35 shots for 43 percent, including 5-of-15 three-point
shots for 33 percent. They also made just 4-of-13 free-throw tries for 31
percent.
Turnovers
again made a huge difference in this game. Lloyd made 15 to two for Highlands.
The Ladybirds outscored the Lady Juggernauts, 20-2 in points off turnovers.
Highlands
travels to Walton-Verona on Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.

The losing
streak for the Bluebirds (6-15) hit seven in a row with the road loss.
Mitch Cain
led Highlands with 13 points. Senior Parker Harris added 10.
The
Bluebirds play host to Conner on Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.
