Tuesday Briefs: Highlands wins second straight

The Highlands Bluebirds soccer team won its second straight at Covington Holmes, 7-0 Tuesday.

The Bluebirds moved to 5-6-2 with the win. All five Highlands wins were five shutouts. This is their largest margin of victory of the season.

Ethan Mills and Solomon Farris scored two goals each for the Bluebirds with Mark Baron and Noah Sellers scoring one a piece. Brady Gesenhues, Jasper Noble and Colton Wagoner had one assist each.

Highlands travels to Covington Catholic on Tuesday. Game time is 5:50 p.m.

Volleyball:
Boone County 3, Highlands 1

The Bluebirds fell to 6-9 with the loss in Florence, 3-1 (18-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-17).

Highlands takes on Covington Holmes on Thursday. Game time is 7 p.m.
