The Ladybirds (6-6) shut out the Lady Jaguars at Tower Park. They have three shutouts on the season.

Highlands outshot Cooper, 18-2 including 9-2 on goal. Goalkeeper Shannon Eaton stopped both Cooper shots.

There was no score at halftime. But Kiersten Clukey assisted Claudia Hills on a shot at the top of the box. The second Ladybird goal was a Lindsey Meyer header following a Clukey shot that hit the top of the goal that dropped straight down and bounced back up for Meyer to outjump the Cooper goalkeeper for the header.

"The girls played very well and I was hoping more than two of their 18 shots would have resulted in goals," said Brian Wiefering, Highlands Head Coach. "But they got the win. We controlled the first half with many shots going straight to the keeper."

Highlands plays at Bellevue on Thursday. Game time is 6 p.m.
