The Highlands Ladybirds could not make it two in a row in the Lexington Catholic Cup on Wednesday.
Following a 1-0 win over Lexington Tates Creek, Highlands (5-5) dropped the semifinal match to Louisville Sacred Heart by the same score. The Ladybirds had just two shots on goal.
On the other side, the Valkyries had seven shots and Shannon Eaton recorded six saves. Highlands faces either Notre Dame or Lexington Catholic in the third-place game Saturday back at Lexington Catholic. The two play Thursday.
