The Highlands Ladybirds volleyball team earned its first win of the season Thursday.
Highlands defeated the host Campbell County Lady Camels, 3-1 (25-23, 25-27, 25-23, 25-23). Senior Anna Marie Houliston had eight kills and junior Emma Little had 16 assists. Seniors AJ Guth and Izzy Schultz had 16 digs each.
Highlands plays host to Conner on Monday. Game time is 7 p.m.
Soccer, Boys:
St. Henry 3, Highlands 1
The Bluebirds opened the season with a loss in a battle of the two most recent 9th Region champions. Highlands won it two years ago and advanced to the state quarterfinals.
Penalty kicks hurt Highlands in this one. DJ Sanders scored all three goals for the Crusaders including two on penalty kicks.
Highlands plays host to Cooper on Saturday. Game time is 8 p.m.
