Tuesday Briefs: Highlands softball wins, baseball games cancelled

The Highlands Ladybirds softball team (2-4 overall) ended a four-game slide with a 2-1 victory over the visiting Campbell County Lady Camels on Tuesday at Winkler Field.

Brooke Dill scored the game-winning run. A walk to Haley Coffey moved her to second. She scored on an error off a Bailey Spencer at-bat.

Highlands plays host to Loveland (Ohio) on Wednesday. Game time is 5 p.m.

Baseball Cancellations:

The Highlands Bluebirds baseball team (1-3 overall) had two 9th Region games cancelled Monday and Tuesday. They were to play at Cooper on Monday and at Conner on Tuesday.

Highlands faces Covington Holy Cross at Highland Park on Wednesday. Game time is 5 p.m.
