Thursday Round-up: Ladybirds dominate Beechwood

The Highands Ladybirds girls soccer team (13-7) concluded the regular season with a convincing 7-0 win over the Beechwood Lady Tigers at Tower Park.

Kiersten Clukey led the way for the Ladybirds with two goals. Kylie Stava, Kylie Schuerman, Molly Wiefering and Lily Lorenz had one goal each with Molly Wiefering and Lindsey Meyer recording one assist each. Meyer leads Highlands with 14 goals and nine assists on the season for a total of 37 points.

Shannon Eaton played goalkeeper for the first half and Olivia McQueary took over in the second half. They recorded two saves each.

Highlands plays host to Dayton in the 36th District semifinals on Monday. Game time is 5:30 p.m.

Soccer, Boys:
Ryle 1, Highlands 0:

Highlands (8-9-3) dropped the tight road contest. The Bluebirds finish the regular season against Simon Kenton in Independence on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.

Volleyball:
Highlands 3, Bellevue 0:

The Ladybirds (14-17 overall, 3-1 district) wrapped up the second seed in the 36th District Tournament with a convincing 25-18, 25-19, 25-14 victory.

Highlands travels to Dixie Heights on Tuesday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
