Bluebirds Face Arch-Rival

Covington Catholic leaves Fort Thomas with Win

The Highlands Bluebirds basketball team (10-13 overall) has come a long way this season.

But the Covington Catholic Colonels (20-4) showed the Bluebirds what has to be done in order to become 9th Region contenders in a 75-51 in Fort Thomas on Monday. The loss dropped Highlands to 7-6 in region play.

Senior guard Cole Vonhandorf led the Colonels with 29 points. Kyle Finfrock led Highlands with 15 and Bryce Traylor had 14. Covington Catholic shot a perfect 12-for-12 at the free-throw line and Highlands made 8-of-12 for 67 percent.

Highlands travels to Villa Madonna on Friday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
