The Highlands Ladybirds volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (25-20, 18-25, 10-25, 16-25) decision at Conner on Monday.
Highlands is 8-8 on the season and Conner moved to 4-10. The Ladybirds won just eight matches last year.
The Ladybirds travel to Campbell County for a 7:30 p.m. match tonight.
Dixie Heights edges Newport Central Catholic Lady Breds:
The Dixie Heights Lady Colonels soccer team edged Newport Central Catholic, 2-1 Monday at Pendery Park.
NewCath is 5-2-1 and Dixie Heights moved to 7-1. The Lady Colonels lost 5-0 to eventual state champion Notre Dame in the Elite Eight of the state tournament last year at Scott.
Loren Zimmerman scored the lone goal for NewCath. Teammate Erin Ackerson had six saves in net.
The Lady Breds play host to Campbell County at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
