Creech reaches historic career 5,000-point plateau in Jenkins loss

Jenkins Lady Cavalier senior 5-foot-9-inch guard became the first player in Kentucky High School basketball history both boys and girls to reach 5,000 points for her career in a loss Thursday.

Creech scored 64 points in an 86-82 loss at Perry County Central. Creech has scored 135 points in two games after hitting a career-high 71 in the win at Paintsville on Tuesday. Jenkins fell to 11-12 overall. The state record for most points in a game for both boys and girls is 81 by

Creech has 5,037 points for her career. She has 1,170 on the season for an average of just more than 50.8 per game.

Jenkins travels to Shelby Valley on Monday. Game time is 6 p.m.
