Saturday Sports Briefs

The second game of the Hometown Pharmacy/Frank Shoop Invitational at Harrison County also did not go well for the Highlands Bluebirds baseball team.

Highlands (10-8) lost its third in a row with a 19-0 five-inning defeat to the Lexington Tates Creek Commodores.

Highlands takes on St. Henry on Monday. Game time is 5 p.m. in Fort Thomas.

Softball:
Highlands drops two:

The Ladybirds (8-9) have not had any luck crossing the Ohio River.

They dropped two more games to Ohio opponents on Saturday at Milford. Highlands lost 10-0 to the hosts before dropping a 5-2 decision to Lakota East. Highlands has lost five in a row.

Highlands is 0-4 against non-Kentucky opponents. The Bluebirds lost to Knoch (Pennsylvania), 6-5 on March 28.

The Ladybirds take on Boone County on Monday. Game time is 5 p.m. at Fort Thomas.
