The sophomore pitcher was struck in the face by a line drive in the 1st inning of the 2nd game of the season and was sidelined with a concussion for over 10 days. However, she was able to bounce back from the injury to take over her role has the Breds starting pitcher.
Christina Enzweiler - Thoroughbred Award. The only senior on the team, Christina was recognized for her outstanding dedication to the program. This was the only season in which she started, but she did an outstanding job culminating with making the 9th Region All-Tourney Team. However, she made her mark in the classroom carrying a 5.35 GPA (weighted) & 4.38 GPA (unweighted), as well as over 900 hours of community service during her high school career.
Casey Kohls - Offensive Player of the Year. The sophomore 2nd baseman led the team in hitting for the second straight season (.398), she hit .430 last year, as well as leading the team in hits (39), runs scored (33), & OB% (.459). She is currently the career leader in in both batting avg. (.415) and OB% (.478). She was named 1st Team All-NKY by the Coaches Association and 2nd Team All-NKY by the Enquirer.
Taylor Burkart - Defensive Player of the Year. This is the second straight year the junior has led the team in fielding percentage (.993). She committed just 1 error this season while playing all 3 outfield positions, as well as, 1st base, 3rd base and pitcher. The 3 year varsity starter currently holds the career marks in fewest errors (4) and fielding percentage (.983), while playing 8 different positions during that time (she has never played Catcher).
Kristen Schreiber - Team M.V.P. The sophomore catcher turned in a stellar season. She led the team in doubles (7), base on balls (13), & tied for the lead in HR's (5) while hitting .315 with 26 RBI's (good for 2nd on the team). However, she does her best behind the plate, possessing one of the strongest arms in the region over the last two seasons she has thrown out over half the runners that attempt to steal (28/55 .509). Before it's all said and done she will be at the top of many career offensive stats.
