The Highlands Bluebirds boys soccer team posted a 4-0 shutout of the host Beechwood Tigers to open the season Wednesday in 9th Region play.
The Bluebirds saw junior Max Farris score twice. Seniors Caymon Stevie and Porter Hedenberg scored the other two goals.
Highlands had 31 shots including 17 on goal compared to eight shots with three on goal for Beechwood. Senior Nick Fischer had three saves for the Bluebirds.
Highlands takes on Louisville Ballard at Tower Park on Saturday. Game time is 5 p.m.
