Weekend Round-up: Bluebird soccer ties Cooper, 3-3

The Highlands Bluebirds tied the Cooper Jaguars, 3-3 on Saturday in boys soccer action at Tower Park.

Brandon Zachary, Ben Schweitzer and Brady Gesenhues scored the goals for Highlands. Paul Tully made two saves at goalkeeper for the Bluebirds.

Highlands outshot Cooper, 16-13 including 12-7 on goal. Cooper made seven saves.

The Bluebirds hit the road for the first time Tuesday. They travel just across the river to face Cincinnati Anderson at 7 p.m.

Highlands 38, Cooper 24:

Highlands handled the Jaguars at home Saturday to open the season. The Bluebirds travel to Campbell County on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The Highlands freshman team also played Saturday losing 37-7 at Louisville Trinity. The Bluebirds play again Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at home against Lexington Catholic.
