The Newport
Central Catholic Thoroughbred girls basketball team (13-8) secured the second
seed in the 36th District Tournament with a convincing road win Wednesday.
NewCath handled Bellevue, 62-22 to finish 3-1 in district play. The district tournament takes place at Newport this year.

Sarah Neace lit things up from outside for the Thoroughbreds. She made five
three-pointers on her way to 15 points.
